The title of this painting  comes from the second stanza of an early poem of Emily Dickinson about life as a journey to the end.   The poem F61  starts with the line, My Wheel is in the dark!

The second stanza is hopeful:

My foot is on the Tide!

An unfrequented road -

Yet have all roads

A clearing at the end -

The painting on the glass inside the frame is 5" x 7"
