"Ascent" was the first painting I completed during my Covid quarantine. While addressing the uncertainty of these times in my work, I want to continue to create bright, vibrant, life-affirming paintings more than ever.
I used a vivid palette of reds, pinks, yellows, blues and greens to evoke a lush wonderland. But the focal point of "Ascent" is a woman, looking up and imploring the heavens to save our world.
