What's happening to my art practice? I’ve gone from painting fairies to painting skin cancers, warts and other hideous skin infestations!
The Lotus-Eaters chapter from Ulysses is packed with skin afflictions such as the warts and bunions mentioned at the bottom of this page. I painted this last night anticipating my slash-and-burn dermatology appointment today. I have had over 100 skin cancers surgeries, so, just like today, I’m constantly being cut, burned and frozen. Not a pretty sight.
I used alcohol inks, acrylic paint pens, markers, and collage to create the image.
